Huck Seed Biography
Huck Seed was born in Corvallis, Montana and spent his childhood growing up in the community of Corvallis. Huck attended the Corvallis High School and spent most of his time playing basketball in high school. In 1987 Huck Seed was able to make the All-State Basketball Team in Montana. Huck went to California Institute of Technology and studied Electrical Engineering as well as played on the basketball team while attending and was one of the star players. The reason Huck was so good at basketball because he is a staggering 6 feet 7 inches and towered above most of the players most of his career.
Huck decided to take a leave of absence in 1989 from college to focus playing poker and he decided to never look back on the decision. Huck started playing in a lot of cash games throughout the USA and entered into many of the major events including the WSOP and WPT. Huck won his biggest event in 1996 when he took down the WSOP Main Event and won the bracelet which meant more then any of his other bracelets. Before winning the main event in 1996 Seed won the 1994 $2500 PL Omaha Event which was his first WSOP bracelet. In 2000 and 2003 Huck Seed won his third and fourth WSOP bracelet making him one of the few four time WSOP bracelet winners in poker history.
Seed hasn’t seen as much success in the WPT as he would like to have, but he has finished in the money three times in WPT events. He hasn’t made any final tables though and I’m sure he would like to improve upon these results in the WPT before he retires from playing the game. With Huck’s four WSOP bracelets he has also managed to finish in the money another 35 times in WSOP events.
Huck Seed is a poker star when it comes to playing the multi-table tournaments as you can tell from his past results, but he is more known for his superb heads-up play. Huck Seed is the only poker player who has cashed in every single one of the NBC Heads-Up Championship Events and in 2009 he finished first. He holds a 18-4 overall record in the NBA Heads-Up Championship Events which is better then anyone else. When he has you heads-up you really need to watch out because he has proven to be one of the best player’s heads-up. Huck is excellent at discovering the slightest tells in poker and doesn’t give any away.
Over the years Huck was known to be one of the quieter players on the table, but the past few years he seems to be opening up more with his opponents and engaging in small talk. I really like Huck’s style and I feel he is a poker player often overlooked by fans. Huck Seed has accomplished more then the average poker player by a long shot yet noone really talks about him.
Huck has made appearances on the FullTiltPoker.net show Poker after Dark and is an avid gambler when not playing poker. He really enjoys prop bets with other poker buddies and is known to make some pretty large bets from time to time.
